Welcome to CHOP NC!

We are a newly forming organization of people who have an interest in food, cooking, and the history, stories and traditions behind it, from earliest times to present day.

CHOP NC has its roots down in the red clay soil of Piedmont North Carolina. Our main home base is in Chapel Hill, due to the residence of organizing members, but we see ourselves as a group including people from all around the Piedmont. That means the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, Cary, Apex, and Pittsboro, along with the communities and rural environs around them), the Triad (Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Thomasville, Jamestown, Kernersville, Oak Ridge, and the rural environs around them, as well as over to Davidson, Charlotte, Salisbury, Shelby, out to Greenville, Wilmington, Fayetteville, Pembroke: We are Piedmont NC based, but wherever you live, if you have an interest in food and history and culinary traditions, and an appreciation for Piedmont North Carolina, you are welcome to CHOP NC.
